Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix's talent for athletics was evident right from the day she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first trial she took her skills, she placed second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix completed her high school graduation and signed a professional deal with the sports company Adidas prior to matriculating in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest to win the 200-meter race in the world championships that took place in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed in the top three of athletes at her particular events.
