Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix's talent for athletics was apparent from the time she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished 2nd in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed among the top three athletes at her particular events.
