Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics from the beginning, as she discovered her ability to sprint when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003 signed an agreement with Adidas. She then attended in the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics at Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for running 200m in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest ever world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, defeating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was an avid competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Jaeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of all races.
